Jack Lewars, Colorist
Jack Lewars, whose credits span features, television, documentaries and other projects, joined PostWorks New York in 2013. Lewars has worked with many top directors and cinematographers including Eugene Jarecki, Kenneth Lonergan and Martin Scorsese. His credits include “Her”, “The Giver” and “St. Vincent”, along with the Alex Gibney documentaries “Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief” and the Peabody Award-winning “Mr. Dynamite: The Rise of James Brown”.
Lewars began his career in 2001 with Efilm in Hollywood and rose to become a full colorist in just five years. In 2007, he took a staff position at Deluxe’s facility in New York City. Working under the direction of Scorsese and Editor Thelma SchoonmakerIn 2010, he performed a complete DI grade of the Martin Scorsese film “Gangs of New York” prior to its release on Blu-ray. His credits also include “Public Speaking,” “Return” and “Our Idiot Brother”. He also has numerous credits in episodic and long-form television, commercials and music videos. Jack is a graduate of the film school at Penn State.
